OUR STORY

Prior to hydraulic technology, moving a house was an arduous task that typically involved moving the structure brick by brick and board by board. In the early 20th century, Joseph McDonald Jr’s grandfather, Charles “Charlie” McDonald embraced game-changing hydraulic technologies that made it much easier to transport large structures without the need to disassemble and reassemble the structure as a whole. Charlie was one of the first in the province to excavate basements, lift and move homes without causing damage to the structure. Charlie’s success carried over into the second and third generations of the family business, with Joseph McDonald Jr branching out from the family business and operating it successfully under his own name since 1985.
